Alfred Edmund Brehm (also Bram, German: Alfred Edmund Brehm; February 2, 1829 – November 11, 1884, Rentendorf in Thuringia) was a German zoologist and traveler, author of the famous popular science work "Brehms Tierleben" (Russian: “Life of Animals”). The Bibliographical Institute (Bibliographisches Institut) is a major German publishing house founded by Joseph Meyer in 1826. The publishing house belonged to Joseph Meyer (1796-1856) and his son, Herrmann J. Meyer (1826-1909). Meyer’s Publishing House became renowned for its illustrated series "Meyer's Universal Lexicon" and "Meyer's Encyclopedic Lexicon." The chromolithographs are vibrant, with beautiful and clean images, in good condition despite their age. These are authentic 19th-century illustrations that can be framed and used to decorate your interior. Over time, the value of engravings and lithographs only increases. Acquiring antique items is an excellent investment and will help preserve and increase your money. A framed engraving or lithograph is a superb decoration for the interior; it will fit perfectly into any style of décor. The combination of charm in the subject matter, antique rarity and uniqueness of the engraving with a democratic price, will transform your interior. Engravings and lithographs are a promising item for collecting, which are practically never forged, and their reproductions are easily recognizable. Collecting engravings and lithographs is a hobby accessible to almost anyone and does not require deep professional study of the subject.
